The Certificate of Authenticity states: "This certifies that this item is solid white oak, made from an authentic ANGEL'S ENVY® KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON BARREL . Angel's Envy is a "Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Port Barrels". A straight bourbon must be aged for at least 2 years, and this whiskey is typically aged between 4-6 years in new, charred American white oak barrels. In the final stage of their productions, Angel's Envy finishes the bourbon for up to 6 additional months in Port barrels. This process is called "double maturation" or finishing. It is these Port barrels that provide the wood for this pen."
