The Rocky Mountain Scout Camp Trail @ Philmont Pen, created by Gayle Akerman, is a Photo Pen in a Wall St. II style using a special, multi-step process which she has perfected. Finished in exquisite copper trim, this pen is magnificent! This exclusive, unique, one-of-a-kind pen, is created using a tube-in design label of a photo of this very familiar hiking trail at Philmont Scout Ranch, Gayle hand-cast the pen tube in crystal clear acrylic polyurethane resin, turned it, sanded it, and polished it to a glassy finish. This is truly a collector's pen! Interestingly, Gayle learned about pen-making while visiting the Philmont Training Center in 2017. As a Silverado, she took a class called Penmaking 101 and turned her very first pen, made of Philmont Cedar, as a surprise for her husband, John... and now the rest is history!
