COLOR TIME! - Another unique piece of art created in our workshop at Lathe Life Creations. I love to step out of the box a bit and try different things, and add a touch of artistic flow to the pens which I handcraft. This one is made with colored pencils which I cast in clear acrylic resin. Once it was set and cured, I cut the pen blank and prepared it to become a Cigar Style Pen. I turned it on the lathe, shaping it into the classic cigar style. After applying several coats of CA Glue, I then wet sanded it to a very glossy finish, adding some polish to it at the very end to make it look like glass. I finished the pen with a classic gold trim which brings a touch sophistication to this pen. It is a perfect combination!
This pen would make an awesome gift for a teacher... or anyone who makes your life a little more colorful!
